Do It Afraid!

Do It Afraid

Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.
~Deuteronomy 31:6

I believe everyone has at least one thing they are afraid of. Some of the things I fear may sound silly to other people because those things come easy for them. Some things that other people are afraid of may come easy for me. It's all in how we handle it.

I don't handle things that scare me very well. However, I can watch a scary movie and that won't bother me, but when it comes to real life stuff... that's what gets me.

I've been known to completely overthink and worry constantly over a situation until it has been resolved... it's really a fun site to see. Just ask my poor husband. I wish I could handle things like him and my mom. I really look up to them because they are so brave. Everything that I fear... it seems so easy for them. They just handle it.

Some of my fears are...
  • My children getting hurt
  • My husband getting hurt
  • Something happening to my parents
  • Financial issues
  • Driving places by myself when I have not been there before
  • Driving in big cities
  • Being embarrassed
  • Even something as small as going to the grocery store by myself (but on a smaller fear scale)
You may look at these and think... "This girl is nuts!" Yes... yes I am. But, not all the time. I'm just made this way.

No matter how much I have read my Bible or read books on anxiety and worry... I still struggle with it.

The only way we can deal with fear is to... Do It Afraid! Joyce Meyer is the one that I originally heard this saying from. Isn't it great!

We may have fear. We may be scared to "put ourselves out there". We may be afraid of something that we are going through. But, we can do anything as long as we have faith in God! We have to believe that He will be there with us and help us through anything.

Fear comes from the unknown. It's okay not to know! It's okay if everything doesn't go perfectly. It's okay if things don't go as you planned. What matters the most is that you don't let fear get to you. Don't let the enemy win! You have to try! Because even if things don't work out or go wrong... at least you tried and fought your fear! That's what matters!

God Bless!
