Faith Filled Action: Make Others Feel Important

Sometimes we get wrapped up in our own situations. Our own minds. Things that we are going through. Most of the time we get concerned with things that are happening with us and we don't really notice what other people are going through. We don't do it intentionally, but I think it's important to take the time to make others feel important.

This topic really hits home with me because I love my husband so much, but I tend to not know how to show him how much I love him by my actions. I get caught up in my daily tasks and happenings and I unintentionally may make him feel unimportant. My husband thinks about me often and shows me that he loves me and is thinking of me. He will bring by my favorite coffee drink or breakfast when he has a chance. He even stopped by the local Hobby Lobby to pick up a cross stitch magazine for me. He's such a sweetheart.

How we make others feel is important because it can really affect our relationships. There has been a lot of strife cause within our family because of things people have said or how we have been treated. I truly don't think that people realize how much words and actions can impact things.

So... how can we make others feel important in our day to day life?
  1. Greet people with a smile and say hello.
  2. Ask others how their day is going.
  3. Admire others traits and accomplishments.
  4. Don't respond to texts and phone calls when you are speaking to someone else.
  5. When your a grandparent don't purchase a gift for one child and not the other.
  6. Open the door for others instead of letting it slam shut on them.
  7. Don't stand in the middle of the aisle at the grocery store.
  8. If you see someone struggling, ask if you can help.
  9. Stop what you are doing and face the person that is speaking to you.
  10. Wait to speak.
  11. Buy a gift for no apparent reason.
  12. Include them in a group conversation.
Are there things you can do to make the people in your life feel important?
