Blooming Teapot Counted Cross Stitch
My husband and I went to Hobby Lobby about a month ago and I found a super cute Cross Stitch kit in the clearance section called Blooming Teapot by Artiste. My husband also found a couple of Star Wars pictures that were marked down for around $8 each. They have a ton of marked down decor. We also picked up a couple of wall hangings for my dad for Father's Day. Our local Hobby Lobby has items marked down all throughout the store, so if you go, check out all the aisles so you don't miss anything.

If a design has flowers and/or pastels, I'm instantly drawn to it. I adore the colors in this piece. I really enjoyed stitching it, but there was a lot of color changing and I'm not quite happy with all of my french knots. My french knots turn out much better when I use to strands of thread, but this piece called for one. I may go back and redo do these at some point.

I was a bit concerned about runing out of thread because it looked like I was getting close to running out on a couple of colors, but I had plenty to work with. The only thing that was confusing to me with the thread in this kit was one color. It did not look like the same color that was used in the original image for the kit. However, it blended nicely once this project was complete. When looking at the picture on the left below, it's the darker pink on the small flower in between the two larger ones. It almost looks like a grey/pink.

Here are a couple of pictures before I added the backstitching.

And a few close up pictures.

The backstitching really made a difference!

I couldn't find this kit available online for you, but I recommend searching Amazon, Leisure Arts, Inc. and Annie's. I will update this post if I do find out where you are able to purchase it online.

Update: I found the kit on Etsy if you are interested.

Happy Stitching!
